Working with metal is quite an exciting and dangerous prospect. You have to be extra careful to make sure that you are not taking any wrong step, and you need to be trained before you start using it. Welders are those people who with the magic of their hands and welding machine (เครื่อง เชื่อม, term in Thai) are able to transform some of the strongest metals into something giving it a shape and form.
These skills require them to practise more than often, and this job is not an easy one. They are versatile and could mould any metal into any shape. Here you would get to know what are the different types of welding processes that are there.
- Shielding metal arc Welding: This usually follows the manual process of stick welding, and it is a process you could learn after you have read and understood the whole of the process with the help of manual or the guide. The electrode creates an electric current which helps in creating an arc between the stick and the metals to be joined. This is a very common type of welding used in various processes like the construction of steel structure and also steel fabrication.
- Gas Metal Welding: Using a shielding gas along the wire electrode, it usually heats the two metals so that it could be joined. This is a very common method which required constant current and consistent voltage. As an industrial welding process, it is really common. You must make sure that you are abiding by all the rules and regulations of the welding process and not jeopardising with the safety of others and yours as well. Welding machine should be handled with care and always remember to wear the right gear, the right shoe, and the right eye protector and helmet as well.
- Flux Cored Arc Welding: This is often used for construction projects and is an alternative to shield welding. With its high welding speed and portability, it is often a commonly used method among welders.
- Gas Tungsten Arc Gas Welding: This method is mainly used for welding together thick sections of steel or other non-ferrous metals. This is similar to arc welding but instead uses a tungsten electrode. Though a time-consuming one, it could be used when trying to handle complex metals.
These are the most common types of welding processes that are used. You could buy the welding machine depending on your requirements and your budget as well. Using Co2 welding machine (เครื่อง เชื่อม co2, which is the term in Thai) requires expertise, and therefore, there are some universal rules and regulations that must be followed.
